Results-Based Program Design
Description
This course teaches results‑based program design – a systematic approach to designing programmes that are focused on achieving measurable outcomes. Learners will develop skills in building a theory of change, defining SMART outcome indicators, and designing activities that logically connect to the change they want to achieve – a skill increasingly required by major donors. The course goes beyond theory to provide practical tools and frameworks that can be applied immediately. Learners will work on their own programme design as they go, producing a results framework that can be presented to donors or boards. By the end, learners will be able to build a full theory of change, define SMART outcome indicators, design activities that logically support outcomes, and present a results framework to a donor or board. This is an essential course for anyone responsible for programme design and strategic planning.
